Everything you need to know about 110mm Underground Drainage

So, you’re looking to find out more about 110mm underground drainage? Let Total Pipeline Systems provide you with everything you need to know.

When it comes to underground drainage, you not only need the right tools for the job but the right amount of skill and knowledge too.

One of the most important things to do, whether you’re installing a brand-new system or upgrading the existing, is to plan. Having an idea of what you’re doing and where everything goes will make it much easier for you, and ensure your 110mm Underground Drainage complies with building regulations - without interfering with the foundations.

Building Control Department

Whether you’re a groundworker making changes to your underground drainage system, or a contractor adapting 110mm drainage, your main point of contact will be the Building Control Department. You’ll need to contact them before you start your project as they will ensure feasibility and safety.

Types of drainage systems

There are two main drainage systems: foul and sewage.

Knowing your drains will allow you to order the right products for your 110mm drainage - be it drain pipes or pipe fittings.

Depending on the type of property, wastewater and surface water may run into the same pipe and although this isn’t a problem, you will need a trapped gully to prevent foul air escaping. Modern properties tend to have separate systems, and this is often the best practice.

Underground drainage equipment

Here at Total Pipes, we supply an extensive range of 110mm underground drainage pipes and pipe fittings - so you needn’t worry about finding exactly what you need for your system.

All 110mm drainage pipes are brown in colour. They are manufactured in the UK and are certified to BS EN 1401. We supply the plastic drainage pipes in 3mtr lengths to provide high strength and durability.

With an innovative seal and snap cap, the 110mm underground drainage pipes are easy to install and are suitable for push fit joints. We supply the underground drainage pipes with a variety of matching fittings to provide a complete solution.

These include:

  • Drain couplers are designed to join 2 pipes together. To make it easier for you to install couplers, and to prevent leaks, a lubricant can be used.
  • Standard bends are used to change the direction of flow. We supply them in single or double socket variations, and in different angles, allowing you to choose the most suitable for your underground drainage needs.
  • Rest bends are used for 110mm underground drainage which has integral seals. They connect soil stacks and ground floor sanitary appliances to the underground drain.
  • Gullies or gully traps hold water to prevent foul water escaping. They’re designed to withstand traffic, whether it be from vehicles or pedestrians.
